DIVORCE RECOVERY OVER 40 / DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE WHEN THE DIVORCE STARTS! DDP#178

That old crap of the man having to leave the house when the divorce starts is just that - crap. I wanted to see my kids every morning and every night. So I just moved downstairs in the basement until the divorce was final. Glad I did. Totally worth seeing my kids everyday. Don't start co-parenting until you have to. Don't start the process too prematurely. Stay in the house if you can! I have no regrets years later. And a word of advice - settle for nothing less that 50/50 parenting time unless there are special circumstances. The same stands with leaving the house, stay unless there are special circumstance - safety and so on.
